Serge avec la ladeeez! James Corcoran is a cartoonist and comic artist from Scotland now living in London. Visit his blog to see, amongst other things, James's renditions of some classic 2000AD characters.
Previous "Draw Serge" contributor, Mathieu Lavoie, has produced some beautiful prints of his Gainsbourg image. If you're interested please contact Mathieu via his blog.
Dominique is a 16 year old aspiring graphic from Petrópolis, a small city close to Rio, Brazil (if I ever get to visit Brazil I'll be disappointed if I don't hear Gainsbourg's music blasting out of every car, shop and house!). Good work, Dominique - Draw Serge's youngest contributor (so far!).
Back to Brazil with Sao Paulo based architect (a first for the blog!) and digital artist Alexandre Piacsek. Alexandre was recently commissioned by a major bookshop in Sao Paulo to produce a series of 80cm x 80cm portraits of famous writers. The results can be found on his blog along with some other great images.
Stephane is a Paris-based illustrator and designer. His first important commission was a record sleeve and poster for Gainsbourg which resulted in the 18 year old Stephane actually meeting Serge! To see more wonderful examples of Stephane's work (and also videos he's directed) visit his website. I particularly like his Sebastien Tellier "Fingers of Steel" record sleeve.
Stuart is a third year illustration student at Glyndwr University and a regular at the DoodlePlanet night at Telfords in Chester. He's submitted this great brush pen and ink Serge and has more work to view on his blog.
Nice work, Mr Chow! Stanley Chow is an illustrator and graphic designer with an abundance of great work on his blog, agency website and Flickr stream. I was going to point out one piece in particular but it's all so good I can't decide!
A great Serge and Jane from London-based illustrator, Caspar Williams. Have a look at Caspar's website for more beautiful drawings, great colour schemes and lovely hand lettering.
I must admit that this one has jumped the queue but I couldn't let a pumpkin Gainsbourg hang around until the middle of November. Hopefully, you're all still in a sufficiently Halloweeny mood. This beauty was created by Sarah Kershaw. Sarah has recently graduated with a BA in Illustration for Children's Illustration (congratulations, Sarah) but also makes beautiful handmade books. Have a look at her blog and Flickr stream for more examples of her work.
