Here's a great interpretation of Serge and one of my favourite Serge compositions, Le poinconneur des Lilas (here's an English translation of the lyrics so you can fully appreciate this great illustration). David Lasky

Here's a really ingenious Serge portrait from acclaimed graphic novelist, David Lasky. Not only has he drawn Serge but if you look at it upside down there's Jane Birkin in the negative space too. It's a splash page from an upcoming comic book about Serge and Jane, entitled "Soixante Neuf" written by Mairead Case with art by David Lasky. I, obviously, will be buying a copy. To see more of David's work visit his LiveJournal or Flickr stream.

Helene Bek

Here's Serge from French designer/illustrator, Helene Bek - "For my drawings, I draw on my daily life, but I also invented a world populated by women dripping cloud, eyes, shoes, and palpable forms ... Music inspires me a lot, and Serge was an inspiration for many sensitive people, no doubt." To see more of Helene's work visit her blog.

Cédric is a French comics writer and was so inspired by the Gainsbourg movie that he drew us a Serge. Cédric considers himself more a writer than artist but has a deviantprofile here. Incidentally, he thought the movie was great.
